But with data proliferating at an explosive pace, storing, backing up, securing, archiving and providing access to that data becomes increasingly difficult. In the past, data management meant organizations would cobble together a variety of solutions to backup, protect, and archive data. Ideally, these solutions integrated with one another, but often they did not.
