On March 15, 2023, Zenoss, a company that specializes in intelligent applications and service monitoring, announced the launch of an Oceania Zenoss Cloud zone. Because of this new zone, all Zenoss Cloud services based in the United States and Europe will now be available via a dedicated instance in Sydney, Australia. The choice of Sydney as the location for this zone was based on the region’s high data protection standards. In fact, the Hosting Certification Framework (HCF) of the Australian Government has named Sydney a strategic location for cloud services.
The HCF tells people who work for the government how to find cloud service providers who meet higher standards for privacy, sovereignty, and security. This means that Zenoss Cloud’s security controls meet the DTA’s requirements for the secure management of government data, critical infrastructure, supply chains, and systems.
Also, Google Cloud maintains an Information Security Registered Assessors Program (IRAP) certification. This shows that their security controls meet the requirements set by the Australian Cyber Security Centre’s cloud security guidance. This certification shows that the physical, personnel, and information security controls of Google Cloud Platform meet the requirements of the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD). Google Cloud Platform is added to the ASD’s Certified Cloud Services List (CCSL).
Trent Fitz, Chief Product Officer at Zenoss, said, “This expansion is another stepping stone in meeting customers’ needs around the world.” He also said, “With multiple dedicated instances already in North America and EMEA, expanding to Australia will provide the region with the only full-stack monitoring AIOps solution that meets the highest levels of data protection.”
