Bandwidth Expands Relationship with AWS to Drive Innovation with Amazon Chime SDK

Bandwidth Inc. has announced that it is expanding its relationship with Amazon Web Services (AWS) by utilizing the Amazon Chime Software Development Kit (SDK). The move is intended to drive innovation and extend the ecosystem for the Bandwidth Communications Cloud, as well as streamline the development of new use cases for Global 2000 enterprises to move to the cloud.

The company’s global engineering team will utilize the Amazon Chime SDK in the first phase of its work with AWS to embed intelligent, machine-learning-generated, real-time communication capabilities into applications. This will enable Bandwidth to expand its Communications Cloud into a next-level intelligent network platform with key functionality already built-in, such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, advanced data, and insights, or pre-integrations with leading vendors.

Bandwidth believes that migrating voice, text messaging, and emergency calling to the cloud is one of the fastest ways for enterprises to build a better brand experience, reduce operating costs, leverage emerging artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, lighten regulatory burdens, and simplify digital transformation company-wide. As such, the company is expanding its ecosystem of solutions, capabilities, and collaborations to meet these needs and opportunities as Global 2000 enterprises directly consume cloud communications.

The company’s Chief Innovation Officer, Karl Perkins, said that leveraging the power of AWS will help accelerate their innovation roadmap and capture all the benefits of moving to the cloud. The Amazon Chime SDK will be a key toolkit as the Bandwidth Communications Cloud expands into a next-level intelligent network platform.

Sid Rao, General Manager of Amazon Chime SDK, said that simplifying customer adoption of machine learning capabilities for real-time communication remains a principal focus for AWS. Their work with Bandwidth expands enterprise access to the latest advances in machine learning that improve fidelity and sentiment recognition for global voice calls.
