Attacks targeting web based applications and services have been on the rise in recent years and show no sign of slowing up. According to a recent study by Ponemon Institute, most organizations have had their web applications compromised. In addition, critical vulnerabilities that threaten the whole web based ecosystem, like Heartbleed vulnerability and shell shock, disclosed in 2014, are raising awareness about the importance of web security. Despite rising awareness of web security, organizations operating their business over web- based applications are suffering from issues with web security solutions. It is getting easier to attempt a web attack, and attackers are getting smarter with more complex attack methods. It is really difficult for IT and security operations engineers to achieve the goal of securing web services and eliminating the business impact of security breaches.
