The development of Cloud Foundry, an open source platform as a service, will be jointly undertaken by IBM and Pivotal, an EMC spin-off, as of Thursday.According to Daniel Sabbah, general manager of IBM’s Next Generation Platforms, “Cloud Foundry has the ability to completely revolutionize business, and actions like the one done today help open up the ecosystem for greater client creativity.””As it has done previously for important technologies like Linux and OpenStack, IBM will include Cloud Foundry into its open cloud architecture and put its full support behind Cloud Foundry as an open and collaborative platform for cloud application development,” Sabbah stated.
